Feels like Rain

Image
She's a hard pill to swallow that one She leaves many a troubled souls in her wake  I shall equate her to a deluge.  @Sue.Ketter

Crossroads

I will tell you a story  That in itself is irrelevant Truthfully fictitious with obscure facts Forming misinformed opinions  Entirely bereft of objectivity  Listen with your eyes open and ears closed Oh, I mean eyes closed and ears open  Utter the assertion that of which you've not heard  Speak the tale that of which you've not seen May this anecdote shutter your disbelief  Get lost in the abundance of anticipation  Ill equipped to handle truth, run as it approaches  Clutching at the markinations of ambiguity  Appease with opinions informed by beliefs  Unlike beliefs informed by opinions Listen closely, regardless  The story in itself is irrelevant.   @Sue.Ketter

Who AM I ?

I am the gentle breeze, Flowing through quietly, The dead of night, The stillness in the silence, wherein I thrive. I am the lessons learnt, The scars I've carried are my blueprints, The culmination of all that sorounds me, The sum of which constitutes the person I become. In the midst of life's journey, Somewhere in time, In the echoes of certain uncertainty,  Where, in what form shall we meet again?   @Sue.Ketter

I Call Upon Joy

Image
I offer the keys of my heart to Joy And let it be my guest  For as much as it wants Encamped in my soul. The sunny days Through the meadow we run Music enlighting All is laughter. Shall I swim in the light It becons me so I call upon Joy  May your visit be longstanding.   @Sue.Ketter

Deeply Echoes

Image
She was amazed, looking back  When she's at her most jagged era All they saw, her blank expression The quiet girl with the long hair She was holding onto strands of faith  So paper thin, she died a thousand times  To keep her sanity.   @Sue,Ketter

To Die is Not the End of All ( So we Live )

She was drawn to the night  In light, she tried to stay There was, a softness to the shadow  It called to her.  Here she felt the most at ease  So clung to the dark corners of her soul Giving in to the stillness The dead of night, a warm embrace. She has traversed the bounds  Peeking into the brightness While courting at the markinations  Bearing the weight, a safe place. She let it engulf her  The sable of night There she was home  The darkness, comforting.    @Sue.Ketter

Bright Star

If my purpose was to be the light 🕯️, Grant me then  The grace to hold the candle still.     @Sue.Ketter

Destined to Pass You by

Image
Trading the edge of rain  Collecting droplets from the torrent  Biding the sun to shine upon us  Fairy tales were only half the story  I hope you remember to turn the pages At the chapter you arrived on. Dancing in the flurry  Welcoming the volley Laughing at the storm  Raging through the outpour I hope you remember to turn the pages At the chapter you arrived on. Sauntering through the yarn Weaving the fable we yearn Holding onto tomorrow  Today remained untouched  I hope you remember to turn the pages At the chapter you arrived on.    @Sue.Ketter

Free Fall

Image
Off to a place unknown  Beyond the scope  Fear will not hold me, To brave waves  I hoist my sail of prayer  In my boat of faith,  As grace covers me  So will goodness and mercy follow me.      @Sue.Ketter

Broken Mirror

Daughters of War

Image
Born with tragedy infused into her bones  With every affliction that gnawed at her She let herself die so she could live. Listen to her silence  Her quiet carries black holes of longing  Perhaps for a home she never knew. Loving her will consume you Still, resilience is her language  She speaks love in whispers.   @Sue.Ketter

If I'm being Honest

Image
Time and time again  However did you survive? Did I survive? I'd like to think I lived  Through it all I lived For to feel pain is to be alive  If pain is the measure of life  Then I have lived.   @Sue.Ketter

Out of Order

Set her free from the chaos within  Ignite her soul with life  Let the light flow through the walls  Brake her out of these loops;  Sad, dizzying, entangled  She's braved the dark yet again     @Sue.Ketter

Dear Tomorrow

Do arrive gently at my doorstep, Send signs as you approach, Bring with you tranquility. If you carry a storm, Drizzle your way in, Your landing be gradual. As you leave, Carry with you the struggles of today,  Let love and hope remain.    @Sue.Ketter

We Turn Into Poetry

Image
Beautifully crafted  Moulded in likeness  Purposely led Through the vastness  Weaving life's thread Through lives touched Connected and disconnected  To return contented  From whence came We turn into poetry.  @Sue.Ketter

Ladders in The Sky

Image
If the sky is the limit Then let me build  My castles in the sky To be a dreamer, dreaming  Dreaming  Painting with words Reaching up, rising  Touching lives  Pouring out from fantastical views Occasionally informed by reality   @Sue.Ketter

Between the Lines

Image
Gentleness does not equate weakness  As absence of violence does not equate gentleness. In her gentle presence  With quiet a smile  She's the picture of peace For to be benign  One must first inflame. Her gaze, it scotches  She's born of ferity She's been a phoenix  For to give light  One must first burn. In her still ways  She carries humility  She's every bit idyllic  For to be gentle  One must first burn.   @Sue.Ketter

Dear Gentle Reader

Dear gentle reader  Here I go again  Writing about dreams  If you ask me about my dream  I would not know what to tell you  As Carl Jung said "If a path before you is very clear, you're probably following on someone else's" I have yet to marry my dream to my purpose. What is my dream? All i know is, I am writing  As I have always written  Words flowing, cascading through the pages To make sense of the world within and without me To unravel the chaos To let in the light wherein I would otherwise drown. My words, what weight do they carry? I have a hope though  That they would enlighten, inspire As my quest to fathom this journey called life  For I too have been lost I am bereft of judgement  Where my dreams take me My purpose will meet me there.  @Sue.Ketter

Somewhere Between Then and Now

Have you thought of roads not taken  The choices you made  Where did they lead? The people who passed by you  The lessons you learnt Where did they go? The waves of change  Where they gentle,  Forming overtime?  As water flows to form a river Where they rough,  All consuming? As a raging as a storm  Now here, looking back  The unbecoming that led to becoming  Can you say, oh! that's why? Learnt patience, in the waiting  Learnt holding on, in the storm  The reason for being  Was in the growing  Strength in the knowing  Peace in the healing  Somewhere between then and now   @Sue.Ketter

A King Without A Crown

A crown without a king Sits above the throne, For its owner to adorn it  He must be acknowledged  @Sue.Ketter

The Chronicles of Izel

Image
Ask me tomorrow  How yesterday became today  I'll tell you a tale about the dream maker from the world of Izel, who bestowed the gift of dreams to his people. From the dreams came, leaders, healers, teachers, farmers and Innovators They propelled the world forward  From land came nourishment From herbs came medicine  From earth came minerals, metals and gems alike. There was unity, harmony, benevolence  Until greed crept in, and in the name of free will some had misguided ways of reaching those dreams Their desire for more power, more wealth gave into oppression of their fellow people. From leaders came dictators From teachers came false prophets From innovators came death and destruction  What was once for good, was now maligned. So the dream maker sought to right the balance He chose a clairvoyant of whom he granted the gift of sight, She was the voice of reason  He chose an ascendant of whom he assigned the gift of sword, he was a vangua...

Doorway Effect

Image
Crossing the threshold  Stepping into forgetfulness  Before nothing turned to something  Smug, plain, expressionless  Smile, laughter, brightness  Obstacle, tears, painfulness  Joy, effortless, boundless  The room of remembrance  Standing at the doorway  Crossing the threshold  Stepping into forgetfulness.    @Sue.Ketter

🫶🏽

All I have is gratefulness  For He gave me you, An all-encompassing,  Unconditionally unperturbed love💋. Through all that life throws at us,  The one who shares this ride with me, Walking forward always.       @Sue.Ketter

If Ever

Image
If ever I leave before you do Tell me, I did well Plant a tree at my resting place  Perhaps a white bottle brush  Let your tears water the seedling And when you're done  Do say farewell And Let me go My sun may have set But yours still rises In thine heart, keep the memories  Smile when you speak of me When you miss me Find me in the blooming flowers As you sit under the shade And let me go I did not leave you behind I simply was called home  This journey's end was a beginning of sorts And as my body feeds the tree My soul flies free, content I loved, I lived I've gone from this place  Let me go       @Sue.Ketter

The Extrovert Loner (Author: Chemasop Cheruiyot)

Image
They call it isolophilia, I just call it being me. An extrovert loner, free, Dancing in the space I am most at ease. My best friends are introverts, the quiet kind, Who speak with signs, murmurs soft and shy. I love how they listen as my words unfurl, Talking less, their silence reaches the sky. I chatter on, their eyes meet mine, A nod, a smile, a whispered sigh. And when the silence comes, I know it's fine We're both okay, no need to ask why. Sometimes, I need my time, to drift away, But they don’t chase; they understand the play. Our bond runs deep, no words required, A friendship quiet, yet so inspired. There’s Sue, the introvert, pure and true, And Judycos, a balance of both hues. In their company, I find sweet peace, In stillness, I reflect, I find release. For in these quiet hours, I meet my Maker, I find myself, no longer a faker. I strengthen what’s weak, adjust my view, Grateful for moments that feel so true. So when I slip into solitude, don't pester ...

Moonflower

Image
On the day's end When the horizon meets the sun I watch as the day gives way to the night I indulge in the twilight In awe of the Creator And in my reverence of Him I hold a vesper of Thanksgiving For when I seek my world All I find is His Grace On my Knees, I stand Blessed, I am His child By His Grace, I am covered I think myself a moonflower Blooming at eventide  Was His Favour for me.   @Sue.Ketter

The Soldier Within (Author: Chemasop Cheruiyot)

Image
I walk like a soldier, steadfast, bold, With a heart full of truth, and a soul that's untold. You may see me harsh, but look past the mask, It’s not anger you see—it’s the weight of the task. My words are few, yet carry weight, Like a commander's voice, firm and straight. I guard my trust, as the scriptures say, From Micah’s wisdom, I will not stray. Approach me kindly, with honest intent, For how you come speaks more than what's meant. Lies stab like needles, hypocrisy burns, Pretenders—oh, how my spirit turns. I live with purpose, grounded and true, Yet many misread what I hold in view. Not temper, nor rage, but discipline’s face, Guided by God and His infinite grace. As soldiers trust, so too do I, Not in men, but the One on high. Lord, make me one, if it pleases You, Let me lead with valor, in all I pursue. I pray for a place where values align, Where truth isn’t weakness but a strength divine. May my heart never wander, nor my feet lose their way, Keep me f...

Heraeth

Image
She walks with a skip in her step  There's a joyful demeanour to her spring Lost in thought, she seems gleeful. She's elacric for the days ahead  But in her eyes, there's hidden longing  Bursting to get through the smile. It shows on her face from time to time  She stares off wistfully for a moment  Then pulls back her smile just as quickly.   @Sue.Ketter

Echoes

Image
To have a dream in a world with no hope Is what she feared the most And yet she dreamt  Of the day they'd be reunited To see in his eyes a reflection of her To breathe again. She's lived long enough She's forgotten to feel alive What they've taken from her She's lingering in between  Longing and despair  He was hidden in memories past. The moment came The universe did not comply She saw in his eyes a determination  To make her world hopeful  They took from her  As they had taken from him. He carries the hope for her Though fleeting  She smiles  Her heart remembers  There's familiarity  She's hidden in memories past. @Sue.Ketter

Mind-reader

Image
I can assure you,  I'm not off with the pixies For the most part I am sane  A daydreamer I am though. Should I welcome you inside my mind To begin you must remember You may encounter the darkness  She lurks ever so close Etching at the surface. Walk through the maze that is my thoughts I dare you  Even I, get lost in there Be wary of her ladyship  Her defenses are high She's been holding herself back. As you move forward You will encounter the light Give her a smile and a hug She was a long time coming She's the embodiment of strength. When you reach the centre  And you find memories living there Be gentle with her She carries the narrative  She maybe just a tad off. On your way out when you meet Ms imagination Do not linger long, She may keep you yet She has made herself The empress to the castles in the sky. And as you exit What you have learnt  Leave them there. Tell me, that journey  Your perception of me, did it change? ...
